Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 August 2026 · Applies to pickzy.shop and all of its pages.
This policy explains what personal data Pickzy ("we", "us") collects when you visit pickzy.shop, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR. If you have questions about anything below, write to [email protected].
1. Who is responsible for your data
Pickzy is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact for all data protection matters: [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Technical data collected automatically: IP address (truncated where our analytics provider supports it), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the time of your visit.
- Data you give us voluntarily: the name, email address and message you type into our contact form, or send to one of our published email addresses.
- Cookie and measurement data: identifiers set by us or by affiliate networks to recognise a returning visit and to attribute a referral (see section 4).
We do not ask for, and do not want, payment details, identity documents or any special-category data. Purchases happen on the retailer's own site, never on ours.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To operate and secure the site — server logs and basic technical data. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in running a functioning, secure website.
- To understand what readers find useful — aggregated analytics on page views and referrers. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through the cookie banner.
- To answer you — the contents of your message. Legal basis: legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, or steps taken at your request.
- To measure affiliate referrals — identifiers passed to the retailer when you follow a commercial link. Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Pickzy uses three kinds:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These remember your cookie choice and keep the site working. They are set without consent because the site cannot function without them.
- Analytics cookies. These count visits and tell us which articles are read. They are set only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and the data is aggregated — we do not use it to identify individuals.
- Affiliate and third-party cookies. When you click a commercial link, the destination marketplace or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to Pickzy. These cookies are controlled by that third party under its own privacy policy, and typically last between 24 hours and 30 days. We receive only aggregate commission reports from them — not your name, address or order contents.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies for pickzy.shop in your browser, which will make our banner appear again on your next visit. Blocking analytics and affiliate cookies does not stop you reading anything on this site.
5. Who else sees your data
We share data only with providers who help us run the site: our hosting provider (which processes server logs), our analytics provider, and the affiliate networks described above. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form for up to 14 months. Contact-form correspondence is kept for up to 24 months after the matter is closed, so that we can follow up on corrections and complaints, then deleted.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have your data deleted; to restrict or object to processing; to receive your data in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
8. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be signalled through the cookie banner.
